"Ghost" folder cannot be deleted
I have a folder on my desktop I created a long time ago but can't delete, as far as the disc seems to know, it's been deleted (I tried). If I try to select and delete it I get the message "Cannot find this item." Running the disc check utility
fond nothing, no viruses/ect have been found, the system has been restarted. I tried creating a second folder of the same name (thinking it would replace it) but it stays distinct from the "ghost" folder and they don't merge/when I delete the new
folder the "ghost" stays. Does anyone have any idea what has happened or how to fix it?
Thanks

Hi,
Before going any further, I would like to verify does another files or folders on desktop can be deleted?
I suggest to perform these tests to delete this filoder:
1 Right click this folder, click “Properties” , check the Attributes, remove the “Read-only” option and click “OK”
2 Drag this folder to recycle Bin instead of using delete button
3 Login with Safe Mode and delete it for test
4 Open Windows Explorer, click desktop on the left pane, and delete the folder
5 Use command to delete the folder:
1)
Run command prompt as administrator
2)
Use command “Del c:\users\username\desktop\foldername” and press Enter
Hope it helps.
